Once again, Drumheller's Foundations have supported the Drumheller Health Centre.
"We've had the pleasure of Heart to Heart purchase for us four AED's (Automated External Defibrillator) including alarming cabinets and cases that we're going to put up in the hospital. These are to be put up in public areas that if an event happens we have a much quicker access to the emergency care of defibrillation, which will also give staff more time to get in position to help. Our goal is to minimize downtime to defibrillation, so being a public building it's important that we offer quick access to it," explained Sterling Martin, Site Manager for the Drumheller Hospital.
In the past, the Heart to Heart Society has donated much needed equipment to the hospital as they are a big contributor to the Drumheller Health Centre.
"There's quite a few pieces of equipment that have come through them that have aided in the cardiac areas. We have quite a few cardiac patients in the area (and) it's certainly been a very good thing to have (as it) prevents travelling and prevents any other problems they may face," Martin added.
"We're very appreciative to all the people in Drumheller who contribute to the foundation Heart to Heart and to the different foundations that support the hospital. There's such great need for health care in the area, and the Province, and we just want to thank everyone for their participation," expressed Martin.
At the presentation are (l-r) Sterling Martin, Colleen MacDonald, Coleen Gordon, Flo Moffat, Linda Ames, Trevor Gough and Belinda Wilson.
