Your contributions play a vital role in providing quality health care in our valley. Best of all, every dollar given to the Drumheller Area Health Foundation stays in our community.

Since our inception in 1996 and with your help, we’ve raised over $2,025,340.00  to purchase improved medical equipment and other enhancements for the Drumheller Health Centre. Since last November we have committed to funding over $247,891.00 in improvements to care and services provided by the Drumheller Health Centre and it’s associated clinics.

Last year your donations provided

  • the Operating Room with a second set of Surgical Laparoscopic Equipment plus slim set colonoscopy tools, special printers and monitors, special training for the staff at the Endoscopic conference, and special monitoring equipment;
  • the Emergency Room with a Trauma Room Stretcher, Airvo2 Unit, BiPap Machine, Automated External Defibrillator, and staff education (for 4) at the Emergency Medicine for Rural Hospitals session, and a Medication Refrigerator;
  • the Ambulance Services with a Bariatric Stretcher to help in transfers and keep our EMS technicians and patients safe during transfers;
  • the Acute Care unit with funding for a new patient telephone system, TVs,  4 Automated External Defibrillators and cabinets, Patient Fall Mats, Wall Desks for each of the rooms, Patient Whiteboards to assist the staff in communicating with their patients and loved ones, and 5 oxygen concentrators;
  • the Palliative Care unit staff with extra training at both the Palliative Care Conference (for 4) in Banff and the LEAP program (for 25) here in Drumheller;
  • the Community Cancer Clinic with treatment chairs, sheep skins and other comfort measures to our patients.
  • the Mental Health Drop-in Clinic with supplemental funding for the 5th year plus additional funding to assist in expanding their services to that fragile population.
  • the Recreational Therapy and Continuing Care units with much-needed funding for their special projects and
  • our Medical Reprocessing department with special sterilization equipment to keep our surgery ’ticking’ on efficiently as well as special training for their personnel;

And so much more...
